Services & Approach

I work psychodynamically, in individual sessions held at least once per week. In our time together, I listen for underground rivers of thoughts and feelings, and the conflicts and struggle they create. I have faith that listening and speaking to what is just out of view can create a space for you to think and feel your way into, and through, your life. Over time, this process can open up new possibilities, ease suffering, and deepen connection.

Patricia Lockwood writes that "even the tightest, most self-involved knot is connected to strings that go everywhere." I think of therapy as a kind of gentle loosening of the knot. It takes two sets of hands, and involves a tracing of the threads to our most fundamental fears, concerns, griefs, and dreams. I believe that knots of suffering are often entangled from the earliest experiences of our lives, and come alive again to be worked through in the present, moment-to-moment experience of therapy.

I work with people seeking help for concerns regarding:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Relationship Issues

  • Identity Development (gender, sexuality, race, culture, ability)

  • Life Transitions

  • Trauma

  • Grief/Loss

  • Spirituality

  • Stress

  • Self Esteem
